How we work

We are here to deliver the images you need. Please help us to help you.

There are a few stages to delivering the images you need for your project. A close working relationship between photographer and client at each stage is key to achieving great results. Taking the image really is only half the story......

The brief

The brief you send us should be as detailed as possible. It should include (if known) the estimated number of images required for the project and details about where those images will be used (i.e. books, magazines, paid advertising, self-produced leaflets/brochures, web etc.). This will allow us to give you the best estimate we can. We’ll call you if there's anything in the brief we need to clarify.

We’ll deliver an estimate of costs to complete the project.

The shoot

During the shoot we’ll work to your brief, so it’s important you tell us as much as possible beforehand about the type and range of images you need.

Post-shoot

As soon as possible after the shoot the images are edited down to provide you with a set of images on a CD to select your finals from.

Selected images

Once you have selected the images you require we’ll create the hi-res master image files. These are all given individual attention and are cropped, colour-balanced, blended and retouched.

Like a good quality 'hand-made print' in film days, a master digital file needs time to prepare. Therefore, please don’t leave your selections until the last minute in your project, as we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to meet very short deadlines.

Delivery

Delivery of master TIFF and/or JPEG files (made from the master TIFFs) are normally made on CD or DVD. Master image files are delivered in the industry standard Adobe RGB 1998 colour space.
